Inspired by Bob Weir’s Iconic Guitar

In 1987, Bob Weir had a custom pink Stratocaster built as a gift for Bob Dylan at the start of the Dylan & the Dead tour. After the tour, the guitar—nicknamed “Pinky”—returned to Weir and has since become a legendary piece of gear.

The original Pinky has been on my bench several times, giving me rare, hands-on insight into its construction, feel, and sound. After years of musicians asking if I’d build them one, I’m now offering handcrafted replicas of this iconic guitar—built to be played, not just admired.

Neck:

• Brazilian rosewood fingerboard 25 1/2” scale
• Graphite plate underneath the fingerboard for stiffness and even volume of notes

• Alder Wood
• Urethane pink paint
